‘Robin Propper transfer to fall through’ as Rangers compensation talks drag on
Rangers could potentially be stuck with Robin Propper this transfer window despite interest from FC Twente.
The Dutch defender signed for the Gers last summer from the Eredivisie outfit, but has failed to make a mark in the Scottish Premiership.
Twente are now working on Propper’s return, but the centre-back’s move has been delayed as he’s in talks with the Light Blues over a compensation package.
The 31-year-old should ideally leave after Russell Martin’s defensive options at Ibrox have been bolstered with Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga, but a move back to the Netherlands may fall through.

Twente won’t wait forever for Propper as Rangers transfer solution needs to found quickly
Twente are waiting for Propper to settle matters with the Gers, Jan Streuer says.
The Eredivisie outfit’s sports director has admitted that they won’t be contacting the Dutch defender daily and are waiting for his situation at Ibrox to be resolved.
Streuer also seemingly hinted at the Enschede club moving on as they want a solution to be found quickly for the 31-year-old.

Speaking as relayed by The Rangers Review (15 July), the Twente chief said: “Robin and his agent will first have to settle some matters with the club.
“He still has a contract, of course. We’re waiting for that to conclude and won’t be calling him every day. But since he wasn’t at our training camp, a solution will have to be found quickly.”

Propper should leave as future under Martin looks bleak
It’s clear Propper has no future at Ibrox after the multiple additions the Gers have made to their backline this summer, and the talks of compensation are arguably baffling.
The 31-year-old hasn’t done enough at the Glaswegian outfit to be demanding a pay-off before leaving.
With the Dutch defender seemingly surplus to requirements at the Light Blues, he risks being benched for the whole of next season.
Rangers are also in talks for Conor Coady, and the Leicester City centre-back’s arrival will only increase competition for a place in the starting lineup.
The Gers shouldn’t waste more time on Propper and focus on reinforcing their attack before the end of August.
Martin undoubtedly needs more quality up front ahead of next season, especially with Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers’ futures uncertain, but it remains to be seen who comes and goes from Ibrox this summer.
