Jackson reacts to ‘Rangers transfer saga for Lennon Miller’ as offer expected

Rangers could potentially be affected as Motherwell are set to receive offers for Lennon Miller this transfer window.

Celtic and the Gers want the Scotland international after his impressive stint with the Steelmen in recent seasons.

Motherwell are braced for bids for Miller, with the midfielder’s father expecting deals to be tabled soon.

The 18-year-old is one of the most sought-after talents in the Scottish Premiership, but the Light Blues may have missed their opportunity to sign him.

Miller transfer boat has sailed for Rangers as Motherwell demands too much

Motherwell’s demands for Miller’s transfer this summer may be too much for the Gers, Keith Jackson says.

The Daily Record journalist believes the Bears’ opportunity to sign the 18-year-old have possibly concluded at Ibrox.

Jackson doesn’t feel the Glaswegian outfit will be able to match the potential offers that are likely to be made for the Scottish midfielder from Italy and Germany in the coming weeks.

Speaking on Hotline Live (14 July), the journalist said: “Miller, I expect to be moving abroad. To be perfectly honest with you, the price that Motherwell hope to achieve in the transfer market this summer for Miller would be too rich for Rangers’ blood right now.

“I can’t see them matching the sort of offers likely to be tabled from whether it’s clubs in Italy that are very interested, and there might be some interest from Germany.

“I think that ship has sailed in terms of Miller for both Celtic and Rangers.”

Martin needs new attackers after defender and midfielder transfers at Ibrox

Martin has asked for new attackers at Ibrox as he prepares to face Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualifier on 22 July.

The Light Blues could lose Hamza Igamane to LOSC Lille this transfer window, and it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold.

AEK Athens want Cyriel Dessers from the Glaswegian outfit, and the Scottish manager could potentially be without two first-team centre-forwards ahead of next season.

Rangers should prioritise signing quality forwards for Martin soon as they need replacements for Vaclav Cerny, Ianis Hagi and potentially two of their number nines.

While Miller is an exceptional talent, the Gers already have the likes of Nico Raskin, Joe Rothwell and Mohamed Diomande in the middle of the park.

The Light Blues need to be realistic about what they need this summer, and most of the Ibrox faithful will admit the Motherwell midfielder isn’t needed in G51.
