Clinton Nsiala now has two options to leave Rangers after Russell Martin admission

Rangers are enjoying a spending spree this summer, with several new signings having already been made.

New manager Russell Martin is aiming to build a side capable of toppling Celtic next season, but he may have to sell some players soon.

Martin has already admitted that his first-team squad is looking too large and certain players will be asked to look for a new club.

Nsiala has two options to leave Rangers

Clinton Nsiala is one player that Martin has suggested won’t get much game time at Rangers this season.

The 21-year-old was drafted in from AC Milan last summer, but only made 12 appearances.

Nsiala is still regarded as one for the future, which is why Rangers prefer to let him leave on a season-long loan, and there is interest from overseas in this type of deal.

The Daily Record reports that two Belgian clubs have shown interest in loaning the Frenchman. These are Westerlo and Zulte Waregem.

Both clubs compete in the top division of Belgian football, and would give Nsiala the opportunity to play more football and develop his game.

More signings to come as Rangers prepare for a big season

As soon as Mark Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises took over Rangers, it seemed there was always going to be a lot of new signings being made this summer.

This presents a great opportunity for Rangers to finally displace Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premier League, but it’s not fantastic news for young players like Nsiala, who will now find it harder to break into the first team.

Indeed, Rangers are believed to be closing in on the signing of Conor Coady, which would send Nsiala even further back in the pecking order.

Nsiala is a player with bags of potential, but leaving on loan will be the best thing he could do to utilise it right now.

If he excels with either Westerlo or Zulte Waregem, there’s every chance he could force his way into Russell Martin’s plans next season. He’s not going to get much of a chance to do that by staying at Ibrox.
