‘Rangers to greenlight Souttar exit’ as Trabzonspor submit official bid
John Souttar has been heavily linked with a Rangers departure over the past few days.
Souttar joined Rangers from Hearts in 2022 and quickly established himself as a key player at Ibrox.
While Souttar was criticised for some performances last season, the centre-back still played 40 matches in all competitions.
However, the 28-year-old could now be set to leave Ibrox this summer, with Trabzonspor eyeing a move.

Trabzonspor submit £1.3million bid for Souttar
Reports emerged last week that Turkish outfit Trabzonspor had submitted a bid for Souttar.
Now, journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has reported via X (14 July) that the fee involved is £1.3million.
This comes after reports that Rangers would be willing to greenlight a Souttar exit if the price is right.

It is unknown if this bid will be enough for the Gers to accept, especially with the UEFA Champions League qualifiers just over a week away. Russell Martin may have the Scotland international in his plans for these important fixtures.
However, with Souttar’s contract set to expire next summer, this is one of the last chances Rangers have of cashing in on the defender, which means the Gers could greenlight his exit.
Rangers should hold onto Souttar
With Rangers making multiple signings this summer, it would be wise of Martin to keep hold of Souttar for the time being to help these new additions settle.
Souttar has been at Rangers for three years and knows the Scottish Premiership extremely well.
Therefore, with many of the new signings coming from abroad, they can learn a lot from the Scotsman.
Nasser Djiga, in particular, will be looking toward Souttar, with the young Wolves loanee also being a centre-back. Therefore, unless a big offer comes in, Rangers should reject any incoming bids for Souttar over the coming weeks to ensure an easy transition for the newcomers.
