Rangers accused of being mugged off over Propper contract news – ‘Can’t be serious’
Rangers are set to continue their spree of incomings and outgoings this summer.
Djeidi Gassama is now set to join Rangers after an interesting transfer saga with Sheffield Wednesday, and outgoings are also expected at Ibrox.
Robin Propper has been tipped as one of those ready to leave Rangers, having been linked with a £5million move to Dutch side FC Twente.

Propper demands compensation for Rangers exit
Propper has been viewed as surplus to Russell Martin’s requirements this summer as he continues his clear-out.
Rangers have already signed centre-backs in Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez this summer to replace potential outgoings.
Propper and his management are in negotiations with Rangers, and the club want to get rid of him.
Last season, the 31-year-old failed to impress, making 27 Scottish Premiership appearances for the Ibrox club, with 22 of those coming as starts.
Robin Propper’s 2024/25 Scottish Premiership statistics | Total |
Appearances (starts) | 27 (22) |
Goals | 2 |
Accurate passes | 57.9 (89%) |
Clean sheets | 5 |
With the Dutchman still under contract, Propper is now reportedly demanding compensation to leave Rangers, leaving many angry.
Writing on X (14 July), former BBC presenter Bobby Nwanze said: “Robin Propper’s time at Rangers has been a disaster.
“Woeful performances, no fight, no presence and completely failed to establish himself.
“Now I’m reading he wants to be compensated to leave? He should be thanking us for the privilege of playing for this club, not mugging us off on the way out.
“Has he bumped his head? Him and his agent can’t be serious.”
Rangers will have no love lost for Propper
When Propper eventually leaves Ibrox, any of the few positive memories that Rangers fans might have for the defender with leave with him.
Rangers only signed Propper from Twente last summer for a reported £1.5million, but that move has proved to be a poor one.
Gers supporters will be hoping that this summer’s signings are more successful, with Martin recruiting largely from England.
Selling Propper would help balance the books slightly and could enable the 49ers to add to the side further before the start of the season.
