Rak-Sakyi ‘red flags’ emerge as Rangers eye transfer

Rangers are reportedly keen on signing Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who spent last season on loan at Sheffield United.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed his history of hamstring setbacks and it potentially jeopardises a transfer this summer.

The 22-year-old played 34 games in the Championship last season, scoring seven goals.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi may see his interest cool due to hamstring injury

The Ibrox outfit may abandon their pursuit of the English winger if his hamstring injury has persisted, according to Dr Brar.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, exclusively told Ibrox News: “If his most recent injury was also a hamstring injury, Rangers may take a closer look to assess the risk of recurrence and determine if there are any outlier or high-risk issues.

“In case they find that there are, they may even abandon their pursuit.

“However, if they are satisfied with their analysis, the medical staff will green light the deal.”

Rangers must avoid signing Rak-Sakyi this summer

Rangers should avoid signing Rak-Sakyi due to strategic and financial concerns that outweigh his potential.

The 22-year-old, while talented, has limited senior experience and has not exactly set the world alight.

His injury history, including a serious hamstring issue, raises doubts about his reliability for Gers’ demanding Scottish Premiership and Champions League schedule.

With Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane potentially leaving, the Ibrox outfit need proven goal-scorers, not another developmental winger.

The reported £10million price tag is a risky investment for a player unproven at the top level, diverting funds from addressing the critical need for a prolific striker.
