Lille go all out for Igamane as condition for transfer completion outlined

Rangers are almost certainly going to lose Hamza Igamane this summer, but they are set to profit.

Igamane spent just one season in Glasgow, but quickly impressed with his speed and remarkable finishing ability, which has put him in the shop window.

Rangers are now resigned to losing the forward, but there is some benefit as he could go for a significant fee, with French side Lille heavily keen on him.

Lille have just signed former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, but are still focused on signing the Rangers attacker, and a deal could be in the works soon.

Rangers and Lille £4m apart on Igamane valuation

Rangers are aiming to maximise the sale value of Igamane, and there is currently a difference in valuation between the two clubs.

French outlet La Voix Du Nord (July 14) have reported that Rangers want around £17million for the attacker, while Lille are offering £13m.

Lille are said to be focused on landing the striker, with all other key transfer targets secured, and want to give Rangers time to find a replacement ahead of their Champions League qualifying games.

However, Rangers are standing firm on their valuation, and the £4m difference between the two clubs will have to be reduced in order to allow a deal to proceed.

Rangers need to invest in strikers

With Igamane and potentially Cyriel Dessers both leaving, Rangers will be dangerously short of options upfront for their games against Panathinaikos at the end of July.

Centre-forwards are perhaps the riskiest players to sell and buy, and anyone coming in will have little time to settle before they are relied upon.

If and when Igamane does depart, Rangers will need to reinvest his transfer fee into the front line, and will aim to sign a reliable goalscorer to start upfront.

Although Dessers finished as the top scorer last season, he was a frustrating figure, but replacing his goals may not be as easy as previously anticipated.

Holding out for £17m on Igamane would give Rangers funds to invest on his replacement, but time is running out before the Champions League ties.
