Rangers ‘set to lose Maclean to Liverpool’ with new transfer close
Rangers star Kirsty Maclean could be on her way to Liverpool this summer.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been a standout player for the Gers since making her debut for the Ibrox outfit at the age of 16.
She has featured over 100 times for the Light Blues and was named Rangers Women’s Players’ Player of the Year in 2024.
Maclean was also nominated for the PFA Scotland Women’s Young Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024, although she did not win the award.

Maclean set to leave Rangers for Liverpool move
It is a summer of change for the Gers, having lost manager Jo Potter in June, as she joined Crystal Palace after narrowly missing out on the title in Scotland.
The Scotsman journalist Graham Falk claimed (11 July) that MacLean is closing in on a move to the Women’s Super League outfit.
He states that talks are at an advanced stage between the Merseysiders and Maclean over a potential move.
Rangers can not afford to lose any more key figures
The loss of Potter, who guided the club to five trophies in her reign, was big enough, but losing one of their key players could be a bigger blow.
Maclean came through with the Gers and is one of their most talented players, representing Scotland seven times, it will be a huge loss if she makes the move to England, as is expected.

The new majority ownership in Govan, the 49ers Enterprises group and Andrew Cavenagh will now have to find a new signing as well as a new manager, if the Bears are going to compete at the top of the Scottish game once again next season.
The English outfit have a habit of signing Scottish players in recent years, Maclean will be the third, with the likes of Jenna Clark and Sam Kerr having recently played for them.
The Reds are in need of a huge rebuild after losing two key players in Olivia Smith and Taylor Hinds [Liverpool News], and it appears that Maclean will be a part of that, which is a huge shame for the Auchenhowie side.
