Gassama to Rangers at risk of collapse despite new image circling
Djeidi Gassama has been heavily linked with a move to Rangers.
Russell Martin will be fully aware of the task that awaits him at Ibrox this season, as Rangers look to get back to a side capable of competing with Celtic for domestic success.
Of course, after several years of disappointment, recruitment is set to play a deciding role in their ability to achieve that, with Gassama one of those recently linked.
However, the latest update will serve as a cause for concern, with the move starting to stumble.

Rangers need a Vaclav Cerny replacement
Vaclav Cerny was a crucial figure for the Light Blues last season, but any chance of a return to Ibrox seems minimal, with it looking as though the Gers have turned their focus to Gassama.
The Sheffield Wednesday winger was pictured in Scotland, with the Rangers training gear on, but as per the latest reports, the move is now in doubt.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
EFL Championship | 43 | 7 | 1 |
That is according to Rob Staton, who reported via X (11 July) was expected to join Rangers, but the move has since hit a hitch.
As for the reasons behind it, they are still unknown, with further clarification likely to come in the next few hours.

Rangers must secure attacking arrivals
Questions still remain over the future of Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers, and should either of those leave, the need for attacking arrivals will be amplified further.
The Gers have had a good start to the window, and can’t afford to let that be overshadowed by the lack of attacking arrivals, though with the season still some time away yet, they have room for manoeuvrability.
Gassama could still sign for Rangers this summer, though it entirely depends on the reason behind the doubts that have now emerged, which will no doubt become clear soon.
