Hamza Igamane has been heavily linked away from Rangers this summer.

The winger had an excellent first season at Ibrox, where he netted 16 times in all competitions.

As a result, Lille have been keen on Igamane this summer, with an exit for the 22-year-old seemingly likely.

However, despite now being in mid-July, an exit is yet to become official at Ibrox.

Now, there has been another twist in the saga, as Igamane edges closer to a departure from Glasgow.

Talks stall between Lille and Rangers for Hamza Igamane

With Rangers on the verge of signing Djeidi Gassama, questions have been asked about whether the winger is a replacement for Igamane.

However, despite continued talks between Rangers and Lille about the Ibrox attacker, journalist Sacha Tavolieri has reported on X (8 July) that negotiations have stalled.

This is due to a gap regarding the transfer fee that the new Scottish management is unwilling to accept.

It has been reported that Rangers want £15 million for Igamane, and this appears to be the issue.

However, the report goes on to say that personal terms have been agreed between the winger and Lille, with Igamane wanting to join the French outfit.

Martin should hold out for £15m for Igamane

With how important Igamane is to Rangers, Russell Martin should look to hold out for £15m for the winger.

The 22-year-old has been sensational at Ibrox and will only improve as time goes on.

Therefore, if Rangers value Igamane at £15m, the Glaswegians should not budge on this fee.

The Gers must develop a reputation for being tough negotiators if they are to surpass Celtic in the Scottish Premiership

On top of this, the extra money Igamane’s fee would bring in could go a long way to help upgrade much-needed areas in Martin’s squad.

Hopefully, if the 22-year-old does leave, Rangers will be able to get the full £15m asking price.
