Rangers exits imminent after multi-million agreement as Coady update drops

Rangers have been indulging in an exciting shopping spree in July.

The Glasgow club have completed the signings of Joe Rothwell, Emmanuel Fernandez and Thelo Aasgaard in the first week of this month.

This represents fantastic business only a few weeks away from the Champions League qualifying matches against Panathinaikos.

However, it has been suggested that a few players might be leaving the club imminently.

STV journalist forecasts Rangers exits ‘in the next week or so’

Rangers paid a sizeable fee to land the signature of Aasgaard.

The fee for the 23-year-old midfielder is believed to be in the region of £3.5million, and STV Sports presenter Raman Bhardwaj suggested that the recruitment drive isn’t over yet.

Writing on X (5 July), he stated that 10-cap England international Conor Coady was among the other players that Rangers are still pursuing.

However, he also said that he wouldn’t be surprised if a few players left the club “in the next week or so”.

The way things are going, Russell Martin’s squad could look completely different by the time the two-legged tie against Panathinaikos comes around.

It would be no surprise to see some top players leave Ibrox

It’s hardly an outrageous prediction to suggest that some players could be exiting Rangers this summer.

A number of first-team players have been linked with big-money moves after all.

Nicolas Raskin has several admirers, and it has been suggested that Rangers could accept bids above £15million for the Belgian winger.

There has been heavy speculation surrounding the futures of Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane as well. These players could attract sizeable fees that could aid the rebuild of the Rangers squad.

It’s interesting to hear that some players could be gone within days though. The interest in Rangers’ top players hasn’t translated into official bids for their services yet, although it’s possible that Bhardwaj has insider information.

If Rangers are to sell a star player, it would be better to do it soon. That would give the club more time to spend the money in this transfer window and build a squad that’s capable of surpassing Celtic and going far in Europe.
