Boyd shares Rangers dressing room stance as Hamza Igamane transfer close

Hamza Igamane may soon complete his move to LOSC Lille from Rangers this summer transfer window.

LOSC Lille wants the Morocco international, and his departure seems to be all but confirmed in G51.

Igamane has agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 outfit, but it remains to be seen how much the Gers will receive from his potential move to the Decathlon Arena.

The 22-year-old signed for the Light Blues last summer from AS FAR and broke onto the scene under Philippe Clement, but his teammates may not be too bothered by his exit.

Rangers teammates not devastated with Igamane transfer as Rangers told to cash in

Most of Igamane’s teammates at the Gers may not be devastated by his exit, Kris Boyd says.

The former Scotland international believes the Light Blues should immediately accept any offer above £10million for the Moroccan ace at Ibrox.

Boyd doesn’t feel the young striker is at a level where he can lead the line for the Glaswegian outfit, and his transfer to Lille makes sense.

The former forward wrote in The Scottish Sun (4 July): “If Lille or any club are willing to pay upwards of £10m for a boy who cost £1m a year ago, Rangers should be snapping their hand off.

“Igamane could score a dozen goals for them in the French league, and they’ll be satisfied. But that strike-rate won’t cut it at Ibrox.

“No, he can produce some moments of magic with nutmegs, flicks and tricks. When it comes down to it, though, I can’t imagine there would be too many of his teammates devastated to see him go.”

Russell Martin will want new striker after Igamane transfer at Ibrox

Igamane’s prospective departure makes sense at Ibrox as the Gers could make a hefty profit just a year after signing him for £1.5m.

The Morocco international did well for a period under Clement, but Barry Ferguson’s arrival saw the striker lose his place in the starting lineup.

With the interim head coach preferring Cyriel Dessers over the 22-year-old, there’s clearly a lot he needs to learn before being a reliable outlet.

Rangers have a no-brainer decision to make with Igamane, and the money from his sale could be used to bolster the team.

The Gers will undoubtedly need reinforcements up top if the 22-year-old centre-forward leaves, with Dessers’ future also uncertain.

Having signed the likes of Max Aarons, Emmanuel Fernandez, Joe Rothwell, and the possible additions of Conor Coady and Nasser Djiga, the Light Blues should now shift focus to reinforcing their attack.

New number nines are arguably needed at Ibrox as Martin hopes to bring success back to G51.
