Rangers’ dream transfers in July – Brooks and Premier League icon arrive at Ibrox

Russell Martin is beginning to shape the Rangers squad in his image ahead of his first season in charge.

Max Aarons, Emmanuel Fernandez and Joe Rothwell have already linked up with Martin at Ibrox so far this summer.

Thelo Aasgaard looks set to join them, with Gers being prepared to spend £5million on the Luton playmaker.

Rangers are also leading the race to sign Wolves defender Nasser Djiga on loan as Martin looks to reinforce his backline.

With plenty of the transfer window to go, Ibrox News outlines Rangers’ dream July transfers.

David Brooks could reunite with Martin at Ibrox

Brooks looked set to join West Brom before a proposed move collapsed, opening the door for Rangers to potentially raid Bournemouth for yet another player.

Brooks previously played under the new Rangers manager at Southampton, with Martin signing him on loan.

The tricky winger would go on to record two goals and five assists in just 11 starts on the South Coast.

Brooks would be a quality addition to help close the gap on Old Firm rivals Celtic, with the winger bringing plenty of Premier League experience with him north of the border.

Brooks has proven to be able to perform at Premier League level.

The 27-year-old has had his well-documented health issues in the past, but playing at Ibrox consistently under a manager he is familiar with could bring out the best in Brooks.

Jamie Vardy to lead the line for Rangers next season

Vardy is a player who needs little introduction, with every football fan being well aware of his abilities.

Rangers have been linked with a move for the Premier League winner, with Martin being urged to sign the Leicester City legend.

Ibrox would not simply be a retirement home for a 38-year-old Vardy, who is admittedly passed his best.

The England international proved last season that he is more than capable of still performing at the top level, as he netted nine times and laid on a further four assists in a struggling Leicester City side.

Getting Vardy on a free would be a shrewd piece of business that could potentially propel Rangers into winning the Scottish Premiership.

Get these two transfers over the line, and Rangers really will be in a very strong position.
