Nasser Djiga ‘medical scheduled’ in major Rangers transfer twist
Rangers are reportedly closing in on another summer signing as they’re prioritising Wolves defender Nasser Djiga.
The 22-year-old moved to Molineux in the January transfer after spending a year and a half at Red Star Belgrade.
He was signed permanently by the Austrian side last summer but fancied a move to the United Kingdom in the winter.

Nasser Djiga on verge of Ibrox loan move
According to former Football Scotland editor Mark Hendry, the Burkina Faso international is set to move to Ibrox on loan.
Djiga is on the verge of finalising his move to Rangers, but there will be no obligation to buy in the deal.
It’s understood that Gers had other options to choose from at centre-back but went with the 22-year-old.
With Thelo Aasgaard also on the cusp of moving to Ibrox, the Wolves defender is expected to follow him through the door.
Rangers have found a quality centre-back in Djiga
Rangers have undoubtedly made a wise move to secure the services of Djiga, even if it’s on a loan.
The next step would be to conduct his medical, which could happen soon, with an announcement potentially on the cards.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |

Nîmes Olympique | 21 | – | – |
Wolves | 6 | – | – |
The 22-year-old Burkina Faso international offers physicality and composure at 6’4”.
Despite limited Premier League minutes, his 56 games for Red Star Belgrade, including Champions League experience, highlight his quality.
He boasts strong passing and last-ditch tackling and that will suit Russell Martin’s possession-based style.
With the Ibrox outfit’s defensive depth thin after Leon Balogun’s exit and Robin Propper’s struggles, Djiga’s loan is a low-risk move to bolster their backline for the Scottish Premiership and Champions League qualifiers, potentially transforming their defensive stability.
The Wolves player can elevate John Souttar’s performance by complementing his style at Rangers.
Djiga’s physicality and aerial dominance allow Souttar to focus on his ball-playing strengths, while their partnership fosters competition, pushing Souttar to refine his positioning and consistency in high-stakes matches.
