Rangers slammed over ‘inexplicable’ Miller development after Motherwell bid
Rangers are gearing up for next season under new manager Russell Martin.
The Gers have already begun to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Scottish Premiership season, with quality signings such as Max Aarons and Joe Rothwell making the move to Glasgow.
If the Light Blues want to regain their place at the top of Scottish football and prevent Celtic from winning their fifth title in a row, more recruitment of this calibre will be necessary.
John Swift has been another name linked with a move to Ibrox, but Martin will need players of a higher quality than Swift if Rangers are serious about winning the league.

Rangers not in running for Lennon Miller
Rangers’ transfer activity shows no signs of slowing down, with David Brooks being rumoured to make the move to Ibrox; however, it is a player that Rangers may miss out on that has generated controversy.
In an article for Daily Record (3 July), journalist Scott McDermott has labelled Rangers’ lack of urgency when it comes to signing Motherwell midfielder Miller as “inexcusable”.
It is claimed that Rangers previously made an offer of £1million for the teenager just over a year ago, which was understandably rejected, but they have not made anymore advancements since
McDermott feels like Rangers could be missing a chance at bringing a “generational talent” to Ibrox.
McDermott said: “At 18, he won every Scottish Premiership Young Player of the Year award last season. In a struggling Well side, he stuck out like a sore thumb.

Goals | 2 |

“While Rangers might have valued him at £1million back then, you’ll have to quadruple that figure now just to get a seat at the bidders table.
“Clubs in England and in Europe are already circling. The boy himself has indicated that he’d quite like to ply his trade abroad. And of course, Celtic have constantly been linked with a move for him.”
McDermott added: “It’s inexplicable that when it comes to talking about Miller’s future, the blue half of the Old Firm doesn’t appear to be in the conversation.
“Especially given the lessons Rangers should have learned from the past.”

Rangers should be hoovering up Scottish talent
Whilst Rangers may have already missed the boat when it comes to signing Miller, they should use this transfer saga as a warning.
A club of their stature should be throwing their weight around domestically and leveraging their size to attract young Scottish talent from Premiership rivals.
Bayern Munich deploy a similar strategy in Germany, and when mixing this in with smart recruitment from elsewhere, like the signing of Emmanuel Fernandez, then it is a perfect recipe for success.
