Rangers ‘all set’ to sign Thelo Aasgaard as big-money fee revealed

Rangers appear close to finalising the signing of Luton Town attacking midfielder Thelo Aasgaard.

Gers have been in talks to bring the Norway international to Ibrox and the deal could happen sooner rather than later.

After Luton’s relegation to League One, the 23-year-old appears set to seal his exit in the coming weeks.

Aasgaard will join Rangers for a fee in the region of £5million and the deal is gathering pace.

The Luton midfielder was actually born in Liverpool, but was eligible to play for Norway as he’s of Norwegian descent because of his father.

Rangers are now expected to schedule a pre-transfer medical

Rangers’ transfer talks for Aasgaard appear to have progressed significantly, and he could arrive for a medical imminently as the next logical step.

The attacking midfielder appears to be a prime target for Russell Martin’s squad, offering creativity and versatility in midfield.

Following Luton’s relegation to League One, Gers have capitalised on Aasgaard’s desire for top-tier football, with negotiations advancing rapidly for a permanent transfer, potentially around £5million.

While no official bid has been confirmed, the advanced stage of discussions suggests they are close to finalising terms.

Aasgaard’s arrival would bolster the Bears’ attacking options ahead of their Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos, complementing recent signings like Max Aarons, Joe Rothwell and Emmanuel Fernandez.

A medical in the coming days would signal the deal’s near completion, positioning Aasgaard to integrate during pre-season and contribute immediately to Rangers’ Scottish Premiership and European campaigns.
