Danilo reacts as Rangers announce brand new contract agreement
Rangers are busy preparing a squad to fight on all fronts as their Champions League tie with Panathinaikos looms large.
Russell Martin’s side will play Panathinaikos over two legs in the second round of qualifying in two and a half weeks.
The Ibrox club have already made a series of signings, with Joe Rothwell and Emmanuel Fernandez both arriving on permanent deals in an exciting Wednesday.
Now, the Gers have agreed on another contract at Ibrox, which forward Danilo has reacted to.

Danilo likes new Rangers deal at Ibrox
After a tepid start to the transfer window, Rangers are accelerating their transfer business ahead of a key period.
Lyall Cameron signed a pre-contract agreement with the Ibrox outfit in February, and he has been followed by several names.
Max Aarons has joined the Bears on loan from AFC Bournemouth, having spent the second half of last season with Valencia.
He has been followed by his former Cherries colleague Rothwell, as well as Peterborough United defender Fernandez.
Now, Rangers have sealed a contract agreement with one of their own, 26-year-old goalkeeper Kieran Wright.
Kieran Wright’s 2024/25 Scottish Championship statistics | Total |
Appearances | 16 |
Goals conceded per game | 2 |
Saves per game | 3.6 (64%) |
Goals conceded | 32 |
Saves | 57 |
The Glasgow club announced the news on their Instagram page (3 July), confirming that he has signed a one-year contract extension at Ibrox.
Danilo was one of several thousand to like the post, clearly pleased with the deal his club has struck.
Wright signs, but will he be given a chance under Martin?
Given Wright’s lack of first-team impact, Rangers supporters will certainly be hoping for more substantial news.
The goalkeeper spent last season on loan with Scottish Championship side Airdrieonians, where he made 16 appearances.
However, he has Jack Butland and Liam Kelly standing in his way, meaning he will cut a peripheral figure at Ibrox.
Of course, he may go out on loan again, or he could remain and challenge the aforementioned duo for a place on the bench.
Butland’s future in Glasgow is in doubt, and it could be that Martin anticipated losing him before the window closes.
Whatever happens, Wright’s signing continues a series of deals which show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
