Rangers announcement imminent as Joe Rothwell update emerges
Joe Rothwell’s move to Rangers appears to be imminent.
Russell Martin has a lot of work to do this summer if he is to get Rangers back to being a side that can compete with Celtic for domestic success, though it appears as though he is going to be given all of the tools needed to do so.
The Light Blues have already completed the signing of Lyall Cameron from Dundee and Max Aarons from Bournemouth, with several more expected at Ibrox in the coming weeks.
One of those expected to make the move was Rothwell, with a new update emerging on his future.
Rothwell deal ‘done’ as Ibrox announcement ready
With both Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane seemingly set to leave Rangers this summer, it is evident what the transfer priorities will be at Ibrox this summer.
However, Martin will be looking to bolster his squad wherever and whenever possible, and it seems as though the Light Blues are set to pull off a major coup with the addition of Rothwell.

Mark Hendry has now reported via X (2 July) that a deal is now “fully done”, with the confirmation of Rothwell’s arrival expected to come this evening.
Rothwell will arrive at Ibrox with a wealth of experience and a unique profile, which will almost certainly see him thrive with the Light Blues.

Aside from the recent managerial fiascos, the main reason behind Rangers’ downfall in recent years has been the recruitment.
Those who have left have been allowed to do so for pitiful transfer fees, while those who have come in, for the most part, have not been at the required standard.
Especially with Aarons and Rothwell, that seems to have changed this summer, with many more additions expected in the coming weeks.
