‘Nico Raskin to stay at Rangers’ after major transfer agreement at Ibrox
Rangers could potentially keep Nico Raskin this summer after signing off on a significant transfer agreement at Ibrox.
Wolves are interested in the Belgium international after his impressive displays for the Gers last season and on the international stage.
Russell Martin would arguably want Raskin to sign a new contract at the Light Blues and extend his stay for another campaign as the former Southampton boss looks to get off to a successful start in Glasgow.
While the Bears must cash in on their best players at the right time, they might be able to keep hold of the 24-year-old midfielder for a little longer.

Rangers may keep Nico Raskin after Hamza Igamane transfer agreement
Raskin may stay at the Gers after Hamza Igamane’s expected sale to LOSC Lille, Jonny McFarlane says.
The Scottish journalist suggested the Light Blues could potentially keep the Belgian star at Ibrox this summer after cashing in on the Moroccan striker.
McFarlane has revealed that he hasn’t heard anything about the Glaswegian outfit selling two of their major players in the ongoing transfer window, hinting that the Bears might hold on to the ex-Standard Liege ace if they sanction the centre-forward’s exit.

Speaking on The Rangers Review (1 July), the journalist said: “Maybe overall on balance, this is the right move even though some people might think it’s painful to lose such a talented young player. And certainly, if it means Raskin is less likely to be sold somewhere, I think all the better.
“I think you would be hoping from a Rangers point of view that Raskin is at the anchor of that midfield, possibly even as captain, for next season, having agreed a new deal. Whether or not that happens, I don’t know. But I would suggest that there was always a plan that one major player would go to help ground the shopping. And I’ve never heard anything about two.”
Martin needs competitive squad to be successful at Ibrox
Martin is expected to compete with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership next season, but that will arguably be difficult if the Gers lose their best players in the coming weeks.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are expected to spend significantly this summer as fans want to see a massive overhaul at the Light Blues.
With Igamane’s future likely to be away from Ibrox, the departure of other influential players will be a significant blow for the 39-year-old head coach as he prepares for the Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos.
Rangers shouldn’t sanction further exits of the likes of Raskin and Mohamed Diomande in the ongoing transfer window, as they played a crucial role in the limited success the Gers had last season.
If the Bears hope to knock Celtic off their perch in the upcoming campaign, they will undoubtedly need to retain their best players.
The American owners will undoubtedly be ambitious about the prospect of taking the Light Blues back to the top, but it remains to be seen what they decide to do with Raskin.
If the Belgium international doesn’t sign a new contract, though, the US consortium may be forced to sell him.
