Rangers transfers to ‘get worse’ in stark new warning to fans at Ibrox
Rangers have been warned they could face another miserable campaign next season.
The mood around Govan was full of excitement after the 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh completed their takeover back in May.
However, they face a tough task to immediately turn around the Ibrox outfit’s fortunes after they finished 17 points behind Celtic last season.
The new majority owners are expected to back Russell Martin to make significant changes to the squad at Auchenhowie, with Max Aarons the only arrival on loan so far.

Jackson fires Rangers warning in new transfer update
The Light Blues endured a dismal campaign under Philippe Clement and then Barry Ferguson, who was placed in interim charge.
Keith Jackson has warned the Gers that they cannot solve all their problems and catch Brendan Rodgers’ side in one transfer window.
Writing in the print edition of the Daily Record (page 49, 30 June), when asked if there should be concern over just one signing so far, he said: “They’re going to have to be patient.
“Rangers are miles behind the eight ball because the takeover took so long to complete than expected.
“It may get worse before it gets better. It certainly won’t get sorted in one transfer window.”

The 49ers can start Rangers rebuild this summer
The Gers are expected to lose Hamza Igamane, as Ibrox News understands Lille have secured a double agreement with the Moroccan on contract terms and his willingness to join.
They could also face a battle to keep the likes of Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande, with significant interest from the Premier League.
Scottish Premiership | Played | GD | Points |
C. Celtic | 38 | +86 | 92 |
2. Rangers | 38 | +39 | 75 |
However, they may not be a disaster; it could allow the new ownership to hand Martin a huge warchest for new transfers, while banking around £70million.
That would require the right signings, though, in multiple areas, and if they get it wrong, it could be another woeful campaign next time around.
They have already signed Aarons and have been linked with the likes of Metinho, Matija Frigan and Dor Turgeman, but none of those would be guaranteed success in Govan; they would be gambles.
Ultimately, Jackson is right; it will likely get worse before it gets any better, and supporters need to be patient and give them time to get it right, as they have done with Leeds United.
As the saying goes, Rome was not built in a day, and the new Rangers will not be built in one window.
