Metinho ‘next to sign’ as 49ers ready new outstanding Rangers transfer
Rangers look set to ramp up their pursuit of Metinho.
Russell Martin’s side has already signed Max Aarons on a season-long loan deal, and the new manager is keen to bolster the squad further.
There is plenty of uncertainty when it comes to midfield, with Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande attracting interest from the Premier League.
Therefore, it makes sense that the Gers are in the market for a new addition in that position.

Rangers enter Metinho race as it heats up
The Ibrox outfit have been linked with Metinho for a considerable while, and the 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh may finally pull the trigger on an offer.
A report from the Scottish Sun (29 June) claims that the new majority ownership picked the Congolese-Brazilian midfielder as a player they wanted to sign before their takeover was completed.
It is understood that Troyes are willing to sell the midfielder, with a £5million fee expected to complete a deal for the Rangers target.
It states that the Gers have entered the race for his services after an “outstanding” loan spell with Basel and want a deal done before the Champions League qualifier with Panathinaikos (22 June).

Metinho would be a quality addition for Rangers
The Gers have a history of bringing in unknown gems from underrated markets, such as Hamza Igamane, Raskin and Diomande.
The former looks set to be leaving Govan, as Ibrox News understands Lille have a double agreement with Igamane, contract terms and his word to join.
That should net them a hefty profit of the £1.7m fee that they paid to FAR Rabat for his services last summer.

They could repeat that trick with the former Basel star, who notched two assists in 12 matches in the Swiss Super League success.
The 22-year-old has experience winning a league title, and that is something which the Light Blues are lacking at the moment.
He has been labelled as the ‘Brazilian Paul Pogba’, and the Gers must do everything to bring him to G51 as he is a top talent and they could eventually sell him on for a huge profit.
That strategy is crucial in their attempts to catch up with arch-rivals Celtic.
