Rangers set to ‘finalise terms’ for new signing as Jamie Vardy deal lined up
Rangers’ pursuit of Jamie Vardy has been one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer so far in the Premiership.
The 38-year-old has finally left Leicester after a glittering 13 years in the East Midlands, that saw him establish himself as one of the Premier League’s best strikers.
Vardy has been tipped to take on a new challenge at Rangers, but there has also been interest from the likes of Sunderland, as well as talk of a potential switch to the MLS.
Russell Martin has his work cut out in trying to fend off interest for some of his key players at the moment, but adding new faces to the squad will remain a priority for him and Kevin Thelwell.

Rangers try to ‘finalise terms’ with Connor Coady as Vardy interest remains
Rangers’ interest in Vardy has been a fairly long-standing affair. Ever since his Leicester exit was confirmed, Ibrox has been mooted as a potential destination for the frontman.
Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers both seem destined to depart the Bears, so their attacking department will need to be revamped ahead of the upcoming campaign, and Vardy could form part of that potential new-look unit.
Rangers’ are understood to still be keen on Vardy, according to the print edition of the Mail on Sunday (29 June, pg. 89).
Martin’s side are also believed to be trying to finalise terms with Vardy’s former Leicester teammate Conor Coady. The 32-year-old hasn’t really lived up to expectations with the Foxes, and now it seems that a move north of the border could be imminent.

Coady would be a great addition for Rangers
The likely departures of Robin Propper and Leon Balogun will probably mean that the centre of defence will be another area which gets a major overhaul under Martin.

Coady possesses the level of experience that should make him an excellent signing for Rangers, if they can get a deal over the line.
The Liverpudlian was a stalwart in the Wolves side that came up from the Championship in 2017/18, and he missed just one league game across their first four years back in the top flight.
He is a reliable and adept defender, who also brings outstanding leadership qualities to any side that he is part of.
There may be slight concerns about his ability to handle the ball under pressure in the system that Martin will likely employ, but that should be counteracted by the fact that he is a fantastic box defender.
Assuming his wage demands aren’t astronomically high, it could be a very shrewd piece of business for Rangers.
