Rangers given ‘all clear’ to sign Hull City ace Cody Drameh
Rangers have been linked with a move to sign Hull City defender Cody Drameh this summer.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the right-back’s fitness over recent seasons to gauge if there are expected to be any issues with his medical.
Last season, the 23-year-old made 28 league appearances for the Tigers.

Drameh expected to clear medical despite knee injury last season
The Hull defender may have sustained a minor knee injury last season, but it is not expected to cause any issues with his medical, according to Dr Brar.
This comes after Rangers have shown an interest in signing Drameh in the ongoing transfer window. (Hull Live, 10 June)
Season | Club | League | Apperances |
2021/22 | Leeds United | Premier League | 3 |
2021/22 | Cardiff City (loan) | Championship | 22 |
2022/23 | Leeds United | Premier League | 1 |
2022/23 | Luton Town (loan) | Championship | 16 |
2023/24 | Leeds United | Championship | 1 |
2023/24 | Birmingham City (loan) | Championship | 28 |
2024/25 | Hull City | Championship | 28 |
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, exclusively told Ibrox News: “He did have a minor knee injury last season, but that’s not something Rangers would worry about.
“It also should not cause any issues with his medical.
“His general availability in recent seasons is a positive for any club looking to sign him.“

Rangers not expected to pursue Drameh after Max Aarons’ arrival
Drameh, a versatile and pacey full-back, could have been a solid addition to Rangers, offering competition and depth at right-back with his 101 Championship appearances and defensive tenacity shown at Leeds United and loan spells.
His familiarity with high-pressure environments would have suited the Ibrox outfit’s ambitions in the Scottish Premiership and European competitions.
However, with Max Aarons’ recent arrival, a proven Premier League talent with 146 top-flight games, the club have secured a higher-calibre option, diminishing the need for Drameh.
Aarons’ attacking flair and experience make him a long-term solution should he join permanently next summer.
Instead, Gers are likely to shift focus to replacing centre-back Robin Propper, whose potential departure has exposed vulnerabilities in defence.
With injuries and inconsistent performances plaguing the backline, targeting a robust, experienced centre-back is now a priority to bolster squad stability and maintain competitiveness across all fronts in the 2025/26 season.
