Rangers news round-up: Dessers bid to be finalised as Cantwell sends new message
Rangers have started work ahead of a pivotal summer, with incomings and outgoings on the cards.
Russell Martin is set to get to grips with his squad and work out what needs to be done in the transfer market.
The Light Blues need a full rebuild after a dismal Scottish Premiership campaign last time out and the new majority ownership, the 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh have a huge job to do.
Here, Ibrox News rounds up the latest from Govan on 25 June, which included the loan arrival of Max Aarons.

Tavernier reacts as new appointment made away from Rangers
James Tavernier has reacted as an ex-Rangers coach got a new job.
Harry Watling was a part of Michael Beale’s staff at Auchenhowie and left the Govan outfit in 2023.
He has been appointed as part of Rob Edwards’ coaching staff at Middlesbrough and took to Instagram to share the news.
Gers star Tavernier liked the post.
Propper to leave Rangers as new admission made
Robin Propper seems destined to leave Rangers this summer.
The Dutch defender has struggled to adapt to the Scottish game and had a miserable campaign last season under both Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson.
Twente boss Joseph Oosting told Dutch outfit Oost (24 June) that he wants the Gers defender to return to his club, saying: “We have been in contact with Robin and I hope he returns.
“I’ve had a discussion with him and hopefully, it will work out in our favour.
“If it were up to me, the transfer would happen immediately, but I have learned in football it’s best to be cautious. You never know for sure.”
Dessers bid to be finalised as Rangers exit nears
Rangers are braced for a new bid for Cyriel Dessers from Greek outfit AEK Athens.
The Nigerian has proved a controversial figure at Ibrox due to his prolificacy in front of goal but he did score 29 goals last season.
Finance expert Dan Plumley claims that the Gers are set to make a profit on the 30-year-old, he told Ibrox News: “It’s not as easy as just looking at the transfer fee you bought the player for, and what you’re selling for, because you’ve got the amortisation fee and the wage costs.
“You’ve got the expense behind the scenes, and that figure was undisclosed at the time, but rumoured to be £4.5million.
“He signed a four-year contract, and we’re two years into that, so you’ve got the amortisation aspect, and the net value of him then falls somewhere in the £2million plus mark.
“His wages need to be factored in, and we don’t know exactly the individual wages for him, but that has to be factored into what you would class as the net gain from a transfer fee.
“If you’ve bought that player at 28 years old, for £4.5million on a four-year deal, and two years on, you’re looking to recoup £5million for a 30-year-old, that feels like a good deal in the context of the market.
“The point there is absolutely spot on around any incomings this season at Rangers, and given where the club’s going and the Champions League, we were likely to see outgoings too.”

Cantwell sends new Rangers transfer message
Former Rangers star Todd Cantwell has sent a message after Aarons’ move to Ibrox was confirmed.
The Blackburn Rovers ace was a teammate of the new Govan signing at Norwich, and the duo helped the Canaries to secure promotion to the Premier League in the 2018/19 season.
Cantwell took to Instagram (25 June) to share his thoughts on the transfer, saying: “Unreal brother.”
