Rangers set for six more new signings after Max Aarons transfer announcement
Max Aarons looks set to be Rangers’ first signing of the summer.
The Gers have already brought in Lyall Cameron on a pre-contract from Dundee but that deal was agreed back in February.
The Bournemouth star looks set to become Russell Martin’s first recruit of his Ibrox rebuild but there is still much more work to be done.
The Light Blues finished 17 points behind Celtic and need an unbelievable transfer window to have any chance of bridging that gap.

Rangers to make six more signings
The 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh need to back Martin to revamp the squad that he inherited from interim boss Barry Ferguson.
Keith Jackson claimed in the print edition of the Daily Record (23 June, page 46) that the Gers need much more than just Aarons on loan.
He named six signings that the Light Blues require, to start the former Southampton boss’ reign off on the right footing.
He said: “Max Aarons is a decent start, but Martin needs so much more than just a right-back.
“Two central defenders will be needed as well as a left-back, a couple of wingers and at least one striker.”

49ers need to back Martin at Rangers
There will be a lot of uncertainty at Auchenhowie this summer with the new manager looking to make his mark on the squad, which is exciting and nerve-wracking in the same breath.
The potential for great new additions, such as Dor Turgeman and Kwame Poku, should give Gers supporters hope that they can get closer to the champions after a miserable campaign last time out.
However, there is the potential that several key players depart, such as Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande, who are attracting interest from south of the border.
The likes of Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers could also depart, potentially taking Rangers’ transfer budget to north of the £70million mark.
That would be a huge help but it would also leave Martin and the recruitment team with a huge task, to bring the required new signings and then replacements for those players on top of that.
It remains to be seen what happens in Govan; it has the potential to be a brilliant first window for the new owners, but they could get it wrong and find themselves in an even worse position than last season.
