Rangers sources share new transfer strategy amid ‘Russell Martin concerns’
Rangers are facing a huge rebuild this summer.
The 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh have taken a 51 per cent controlling stake in the Govan outfit and appointed Russell Martin as their new manager.
Work will now be underway to secure new signings at Ibrox, but with the first match of the season nearly a month away, supporters are getting nervous about the lack of action.

Rangers to be patient in transfer approach
Cavenagh and Co will take their time to rebuild Rangers, rather than being careless and potentially putting Martin in a worse situation than the likes of Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson found themselves in.
Scottish Times reporter Michael Grant (21 June) has revealed that the new owners are in no rush to announce any deals ahead of the EGM on 23 June.
He states that Auchenhowie sources have implied that there is no intention of making additions to appease supporters, and they will be patient in finding options for the new manager.
He said: “The chairman may feel unmoved about immediate alarm bells around the initial composition of Martin’s team when presumably he is committing his thoughts to the long-term strategy of rebuilding and growing Rangers from the bottom up.
“But at the EGM, and to the media, he would be well advised to stress that the club is beavering away in the background.
“Announcing a new player or two would serve as a release, although sources at Rangers suggest there is no intention of doing so simply for PR reasons.”

49ers and Cavenagh taking the right approach at Rangers
Everything about the new majority owners suggests they know what they are doing.
They took their time to appoint Martin, with the likes of Davide Ancelotti and Steven Gerrard also considered for the job, before the appointment was made.
They will be aware of exactly what is needed in the market and have tough decisions to make on the futures of the likes of Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande, who are attracting interest from south of the border.
The potential sales of those stars, combined with Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane, could net the Gers around £50million, which would see Martin’s budget skyrocket again.
It will be interesting to hear from the new sporting structure at the club’s EGM, especially on their plans for the window, because supporters want to know how the Light Blues are going to approach things this summer after years of flawed transfers.
It should provide some clarity, but whether it is just lip service or an actual insight into their business that will be done remains to be seen.
