Rangers ‘given green signal’ on £5m Kevin Boma transfer, bid expected soon
Rangers are reportedly keen on signing a new centre-back this summer and have identified Kevin Boma as a target.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has gauged the fitness record of the Togo international in recent seasons, should he be on the move in the coming weeks.
The 22-year-old is currently plying his trade at Liga Portugal outfit Estoril, where he has been a first-team regular.

Kevin Boma unlikely to have injury issues while adapting to life in the SPFL
While Gers will look at his adductor injury, he’s not expected to have issues adapting to the SPFL, according to Dr Brar.
Rangers want to sign Boma and will have to shell out north of £5million to secure his services. [Foot Mercato, 9 May]
FC Basel are also interested in the defender and are expected to make an offer for him.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, exclusively told Ibrox News:
“The club may take a closer look at his adductor injury due to the length of absence and see how it was addressed.
“Apart from that, there was nothing particularly untoward with his fitness last and he also played fairly regularly.
“I see no issues arising should he join Rangers.“

Rangers may not be able to shell out that kind of money on Boma
While Boma does have decent potential, it remains to be seen if he walks in as one of the best players at Rangers.
The Ibrox outfit do have money to spend but they’ll shell out more than £5million for someone only if they’re sure he is one of the first names on the team sheet.
Under previous regimes, they have often overspent on players that have not been worth of the outlay and they need to avoid those mistakes.
