Rangers ‘deal agreed to sign Max Aarons’ as terms of transfer revealed

Russell Martin could soon have a new defender at Rangers in Bournemouth right-back Max Aarons.

The Englishman joined Valencia on loan in the winter transfer window after struggling for game time at the Cherries under Andoni Iraola.

Aarons could now be part of Martin’s squad ahead of next season, with the Gers looking to bolster their backline this summer.

James Tavernier’s spell at Ibrox could end next year, and the Glaswegian outfit seem to be planning for their future.

Aarons to join Rangers on loan transfer from Bournemouth

Aarons will join the Gers on loan from Bournemouth this summer, Mark McAdam says.

The Sky Sports journalist revealed on X (20 June) that the Light Blues have agreed a deal with the Premier League outfit for the 25-year-old defender’s move to Ibrox.

It’s been claimed that the right-back will sign on a straight loan, and the Bears don’t have an obligation to buy him permanently.

Martin will be hoping for the Englishman’s arrival soon, as the Glaswegian outfit begin their pre-season training on Monday (23 June).

Ibrox faithful to be encouraged as Kevin Thelwell set to complete major transfer

Martin trusts Tavernier to keep the armband, but supporters have been calling for the veteran defender’s exit for some time now.

Dujon Sterling is an option at Ibrox for the right-hand side of the defence, but the Englishman’s consistent fitness issues are frustrating.

The Gers announced their first signing of the summer in Lyall Cameron, having agreed a pre-contract with the midfielder a few months back.

Rangers were historically late in completing their transfer business under the previous regime, but Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises seemingly want that to change.

The Gers can’t stop with the potential arrival of Aarons, there’s still a lot of work to be done to build a competitive squad.

With Leon Balogun leaving and Robin Propper possibly on his way out, more defensive reinforcements are arguably needed at Ibrox.

Apart from that, the Light Blues have lost a lot of attacking quality after Vaclav Cerny and Ianis Hagi’s exits, which will need to be addressed.

Supporters will hope Aarons can be announced soon, and his addition will be followed by new signings before the Champions League clash against Panathinaikos.
