Celtic release ‘club statement’ to mock Rangers after Ibrox developments
Celtic have wasted little time in mocking Rangers after the latest developments at Ibrox.
At this stage in the year, most of the focus is on the recruitment and pre-season planning, with Rangers having a remarkable amount of work to do this summer in order to get back to competing with Celtic at the summit of Scottish football.
The Gers finished a remarkable 17 points behind Brendan Rodgers’ side last season, with plenty of off-field concerns causing issues at Ibrox throughout the campaign.
In regards to off-field situations, Rangers were forced to release a club statement on Thursday (19 June), with Celtic firing back immediately, less than 24 hours later.

Rangers mocked by Celtic social media post
Rangers and Celtic have a fierce rivalry, often seen as the biggest in the UK, and that often sees the two sides fire digs at each other, and it has been the case once again.
The Light Blues were forced to release a statement clarifying that they had been found in breach of Disciplinary Rule 38 following a remark made during commentary of the Hibernian v Rangers game in May.
As a result, the Gers were fined £3,000, and in the statement, they highlighted the nature of the remark made, hitting back at the decision.
Scottish Premiership | W | D | L | P |
Celtic | 29 | 5 | 4 | 92 |
Rangers | 22 | 9 | 7 | 75 |
However, less than 24 hours later, Celtic took to X to post a “club statement” link, which takes you straight to a page where it states nothing other than “We’ll be bringing you this season’s league fixtures shortly.”
It seems like an apparent dig at the post shared by the Light Blues, which received mixed reactions at the time from supporters in Scotland.

Rangers can get one over on Celtic next season
Supporting the Gers has brought more misery than pride over the last few years, but with the right decision-making and planning this summer, that can change.
Rangers simply have to get back to being able to compete with the Bhoys and earn the bragging rights of the rivalry by winning the league title.
Russell Martin faces the task of being the man to achieve that and change the fortunes at Ibrox.
