John Souttar ‘to be sold immediately’ after Rangers reveal
John Souttar’s popularity at Rangers has surely taken a hit over the last 24 hours.
Last season was another to forget for Rangers, and newly appointed Russell Martin will be fully aware of the magnitude of the task that awaits him at Ibrox to get the Light Blues back to where they should be.
Rangers should be competing with Celtic for domestic silverware, though their shortcomings under both Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson prevented that from happening.
However, not all of the blame can be shouldered by the men in the dugout, with the desire and integrity of one player in particular now under serious threat.

Rangers have no option but to sell Souttar this summer
If the Gers are to return to the summit of Scottish football, everyone at Ibrox needs to be on the same wavelength, and certainly all in for the same reason.
However, that seems to be far from the case in Glasgow, after Keith Jackson revealed that Souttar delayed surgery, purely so that he could team up with Scotland for what many will see as pointless friendlies.

The delay in treatment now means that the defender is in doubt for their Champions League clash with Panathinaikos in July, potentially hurting their chances of progressing.
Not only could his absence prove detrimental, but his decision to delay surgery is not a good look for his desire to star in Glasgow.

Ibrox needs to be united for the same thing next season
Success is hard to come by at the best of times, but if players aren’t committed to the case, it’s a near certainty that it won’t be achieved, and Martin now faces the task of getting that together.
Rangers cannot afford another trophyless season, and Celtic will likely be rubbing their hands together at news like this.
These next few months will be crucial for the Gers’ chances of progressing, and it is imperative that all decisions made are the right ones.
