Cyriel Dessers holds Rangers exit talks in new transfer twist
Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers has been linked with an exit this transfer window.
Despite playing 55 games this past season and scoring 29 goals in all competitions, the Nigeria international splits opinion among the fanbase.
Dessers was linked with an exit in the January transfer window as well, but did not end up leaving.
AEK Athens open talks to sign Cyriel Dessers
The 30-year-old has been linked to multiple countries in Europe in the past and now interest has emerged from Greece.
According to Sportime journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos (9 June), AEK Athens are now in talks to sign Dessers.
He has not mentioned how it would take to prise him away from Ibrox, but an exit is not ruled out, at this stage.

The Nigerian played 30 league games in 2024/25 and managed to find the back of the net on 12 occasions.
Dessers even made headlines for his goal against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League this past season.

Rangers should demand over £5million for Dessers due to his proven goal-scoring record and market value.
The 30-year-old Nigerian striker has delivered 29 goals this season and 22 in the previous one, a remarkable output for a Gers side that has faced challenges, making him a valuable asset in today’s inflated transfer market.
Having paid £4.5million for him in 2023, the Ibrox outfit will aim to recoup at least this investment, especially given his durability and leadership in the squad.
A higher fee reflects his consistent output and the difficulty of replacing a striker of his calibre, particularly with Rangers’ thin attacking options.
