Cyriel Dessers speaks out after Rangers exit news – ‘It’s normal’
Cyriel Dessers could be on the move from Rangers this summer.
With the 49ers takeover now complete, and the appointment of Russell Martin seemingly pending, Rangers are edging ever closer to being able to kickstart their summer transfer business.
Several players have already been linked with a move to Ibrox, while a handful of others have also been linked with an exit from Glasgow.
Dessers is one to fit the quota for the latter, and the Nigerian striker has since spoken out about his future plans.

Rangers cannot afford to lose Dessers
Dessers has come in for a lot of stick at Rangers this season, despite the fact that he has been the most reliable source of goals throughout the campaign.
The 30-year-old scored an impressive 29 goals across all competitions last season, including 18 of which arrived in the Scottish Premiership.
Ultimately, it was another season to forget for the Light Blues, though for Dessers, his form is said to have attracted the attention of Greek giants Olympiakos and AEK Athens this summer, according to voatebalkrant.
Rangers | Games | Goals | Assists |
Dessers | 55 | 29 | 6 |
On the reported interest, Dessers said: “With my statistics, it’s normal that there’s interest. I have also heard that AEK Athens and Olympiakos want to talk, but now I want to enjoy my holiday.
“I still have two years of contract with a fantastic club like Rangers. I don’t have to leave.”
With Vaclav Cerny already exiting Ibrox, Rangers cannot afford to lose another huge source of goals, otherwise they face the impossible task of having to replace them.

Martin appointment may be key to Dessers future
Dessers‘ next move will likely be his last chance to seal a big one before his decline starts, and given the uncertainty at Ibrox, that will be playing in his mind.
With interest from several clubs, not knowing who he will be playing under next season could edge him closer to the exit door, showcasing how important this next hire will be.
Rangers have a lot of work to do this summer, and they can’t afford to waste too much time finding their first permanent manager since February.
