Exclusive: Robin Propper wants Rangers exit as transfer bid update emerges

Robin Propper wants to leave Rangers this summer and return to the Netherlands, Ibrox News has learned.

The 31-year-old moved to Ibrox ahead of the 2024/25 campaign for a fee understood to be in the region of £2.5million.

Ibrox News sources understand that FC Twente want Propper to return to the club despite selling him less than 12 months ago.

FC Twente prepared to make 1m+ bid for Propper

Sources have told Ibrox News that Twente do not want to offer what they got for the centre-back last summer.

Instead, they’re willing to pay around half of that fee, which means that they’re preparing a bid that’s north of £1million.

Whether or not this is enough for Rangers to sell remains to be seen, but the ball is understood to be in their court with regards to this deal.

Soccer News NL’s Mounir Boualin also claims that internal talks have taken place at Twente over a reunion with the defender.

Rangers must try and drive up the price for Propper

Rangers should leverage Propper’s experience, consistent appearances and leadership to demand a higher sum, ideally closer to the initial fee.

To achieve this, Gers can emphasise his proven track record and the cost of replacing a regular defender.

Engaging other Dutch clubs, like Ajax or PSV, could spark a bidding war, given Propper’s familiarity with the Eredivisie.

By highlighting his versatility and recent performances, Gers can negotiate firmly, ensuring they recoup a substantial portion of their investment while deterring Twente from a lowball offer.

However, they’ll be aware that they do not hold the stronger hand in negotiations, as Propper has not proven to be worth the outlay despite his regular appearances.

There have been way too many errors that the new manager is not likely to tolerate, making it extremely difficult for him
