Rangers manager decision made as 49ers takeover confirmed
Rangers are on the brink of hiring a new manager as the consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises have taken over.
The Americans have acquired a 51 per cent stake in the Ibrox outfit, making them the majority owners.
Patrick Stewart will remain as Rangers CEO despite being hired before the takeover process was underway.
Rangers to hire new manager by next week
According to STV’s Raman Bhardwaj, with the takeover finalised, the next step for the owners is to hire a manager.
He claims that it’s expected to be done by next week, with a new head/coach manager to be announced.
Barry Ferguson joined as interim manager but did not get the job on a full-time basis.

Currently, Davide Ancelotti is said to be the favourite to become the next Rangers boss.
Along with Ancelotti, Russell Martin is also believed to be in the frame.
Bhardwaj wrote on X: “Rangers takeover complete: US consortium takes 51% control. Initial £20m investment via share issue (underwritten by consortium). Expect new manager/head coach to be appointed next week.”
