Rangers £20m meeting scheduled just days after transfer window officially opens
Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe have officially completed their takeover of Rangers, and plans are in motion for the upcoming transfer window.
The US consortium have finally acquired controlling shares at the Gers after months of work behind the scenes, with the ParetoHealth chief assuming the role of chairman and joined by the 49ers Enterprises president on the board.
With key players like Ianis Hagi and Vaclav Cerny leaving the Light Blues, major investment in the squad is arguably needed next summer.
Kevin Thelwell is set to be the sporting director at Ibrox, and the Glaswegian outfit have decided on a key component of their recruitment strategy already.

The Americans have a massive task on their hands to bring success back to Ibrox, and it’ll be interesting to see what Thelwell and the recruitment team can do with the money.

Ibrox faithful will want new manager to be backed in summer transfer window
Davide Ancelotti has been heavily linked to Ibrox, but it remains to be seen who Gretar Steinsson and the other chiefs believe is the right person for the job.
The former Real Madrid assistant manager will have his work cut out for him at the Gers if he’s hired, considering his limited experience as a first-team head coach.
With several positions needing to be reinforced at the Light Blues in the upcoming transfer window, Cavenagh and the 49ers’ investment will undoubtedly be significant.
Rangers have a decision to make on Jack Butland next summer, with the Englishman losing his place in between the sticks towards the end of the season after some inconsistent performances.
Leon Balogun’s departure also leaves the Gers light at centre-back, and Robin Propper’s sale wouldn’t be surprising in the coming months after his struggles in the current campaign.
Nico Raskin has stood out at the Glaswegian outfit, with several teams down south interested in him.
Having lost Cerny, the Bears must find a suitable replacement for him on the right wing and also have a call to make on whether Dessers will be their starting number nine next season.
With the takeover officially completed, the Ibrox faithful may have exciting times to look forward to.
