Davide Ancelotti Rangers move ‘in jeopardy’ after development in Italy

Davide Ancelotti has been linked with the Rangers job as he aims to kickstart his managerial career.

The 35-year-old has been working under his father Carlo Ancelotti, but did not join the coaching staff of the Brazil national team.

Carlo admitted that it was because he is in talks with a European side to become their manager.

Pisa now join race to hire Ancelotti ahead of Gers

According to Sesta Sports (29 May), Pisa, who recently got promoted to the Serie A, are also considering appointing Ancelotti Jr.

Manager Filippo Inzaghi is facing an uncertain future at the Italian club as the relationship with the club’s owner Alexander Knaster and CEO Giovanni Corrado has broken down.

Corrado is understood to be great friends with Ancelotti Jr and despite links with a switch to Ibrox, Pisa could also be in the running to hire him.

Rangers have held talks with the former Real Madrid assistant coach as he appears to be leading the chase to become the next permanent manager.

Thus far, Pisa have not made an approach for him.

Rangers managerial hunt could be in jeopardy if Pisa make an approach

Rangers’ pursuit of Ancelotti Jr as their next manager could be at risk if Pisa, newly promoted to Serie A, make a formal approach.

He is a leading candidate to succeed Philippe Clement, but Pisa’s interest, driven by Corrado’s close friendship with Ancelotti, poses a threat.

Pisa’s Serie A status offers a different platform than Rangers, who finished a distant second in the Scottish Premiership and face a challenging rebuild under incoming 49ers Enterprises ownership.

Ancelotti’s lack of senior managerial experience makes Pisa’s project appealing, as it aligns with his Italian roots and Serie A’s tactical demands.

Gers must act swiftly to secure Ancelotti, finalising negotiations before Pisa’s approach materialises.

Offering a clear vision, a competitive transfer budget, and assurances of long-term backing could sway him. Delaying risks losing Ancelotti to Pisa, derailing the Ibrox outfit’s plans to close the gap with Celtic.
