Alan Brazil shares what top Rangers source tells him about new Ibrox manager
Alan Brazil has revealed an update from an Ibrox insider as Rangers continue talks over a new head coach.
The Gers have been in desperate need of a new head coach since the departure of Barry Ferguson at the end of his temporary stint in charge.
This has seen a number of options be assessed in Govan as the Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers look to decide on the forward direction of the Light Blues.
Now Brazil has revealed what he has heard about manager talks from Ibrox as the summer window looms.

Brazil shares Rangers manager udpate from Ibrox source
There has been no lack of head coaches linked with the vacant role in G51 after going without a permanent option since Philippe Clement was sacked.
This has seen Davide Ancelotti take steps forward to being appointed after his departure from his role as assistant at Real Madrid.
It appears unlikely that he will join his father, Carlo, with the Brazil national team as he looks to kickstart his own managerial career.
With that being said, Brazil has spoken out over a potential return for Steven Gerrard after four years away from Ibrox.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 29 May (06:23am), the former striker revealed what a top Rangers source revealed to him about the Englishman.
He said: “I was told last week or the week before that it was Gerrard, Steven Davis and Jordan Henderson going to Rangers. It looks as if that’s stalled now.
“I don’t know if that’s to do with money or what, but that was from my decent source, it wasn’t just a guy in the pub, it was a proper guy who said that’s what he’d heard.”
Gerrard and Henderson move seemingly off at Rangers
There are a number of supporters in G51 who would like to see the return of the Liverpool legend as an experienced head coach option.
This would certainly be helped if the 44-year-old were to be joined by Henderson at Ibrox, if he were to leave Ajax at the end of the season.
Year | Club | Appearances |
2024-25 | Ajax | 57 |
2023-2024 | Al-Ettifaq | 19 |
2011-2023 | Liverpool | 492 |
2008-2011 | Sunderland | 78 |
This duo could prove to be exactly what is needed in Govan as the Gers play catch-up with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership next season.
With that being said, a move for this duo and Davis could be off, representing a boost for the potential incoming of Ancelotti.
