Luka Modric transfer: Final update on Rangers move after Balague update
Rangers have been linked with a sensational move for Luca Modric.
The Croatian superstar is set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after a 13-year spell in the Spanish capital.
The former Tottenham ace has won four La Liga titles, six Champions League titles, two Copa Del Rey’s and won the Ballon d’Or award in 2018.
He could be set to follow Davide Ancelotti to Ibrox with the Italian being the frontrunner for the vacancy.

Rangers chances of signing Modric dismissed
The Gers had been linked with some very high-profile names, such as David Alaba and Ferland Mendy, if Ancelotti takes over.
However, it appears that Modric will not be joining the Govan outfit after a new update from Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.
In a post of his personal X account (28 May), the respected report clarified the situation, saying: “Modric IS NOT GOING TO RANGERS, but you knew that, right?
“The story I told about Modric is in the BBC Sport in relation to Davide Ancelotti and Rangers.
“Players he knows have asked him to take them to Rangers and when Modric was asked about it, he did not say no, or yes, or committed to it.
“It was a way to explaining the kind of conversations Davide can have, as he has access to players that hugely respect him But MODRIC IS NOT GOING TO RANGERS.
“It will not stop people assuming that he is about to sign for Rangers
Modric will not be joining Rangers
It seems like the idea of Modric gracing Auchenhowie will remain a pipedream for the foreseeable future, with the potential of a move firmly ruled out by Balague.
Regardless, it is encouraging to see the Gers linked with some of the best players in Europe after several miserable transfer windows.

If the 49ers can seal Ancelotti’s appointment in the coming weeks, it could revolutionise the Light Blues and the biggest names will continue to be linked, given the connections that he has with Los Blancos after coaching under his father there, the legendary Carlo Ancelotti for a number of years.
Modric may not be making his way to Glasgow anytime soon but the calibre of player that the Bears can attract should be increased with the Italian’s status in the game.
It would be a risk handing him the reins, given his lack of experience in management but his exciting new tactical blueprint and potential transfer pull is a huge benefit for the Gers.
It remains to be seen whether he is given the chance to manage the famous Glaswegians but it would be an ambitious move from Paraag Marathe and Co, on and off the pitch and could completely transform the Govan club.
