Ancelotti image reveal telling in significant next Rangers manager development

Rangers could be edging ever closer to naming Davide Ancelotti as their new head coach.

The Italian has been strongly linked with the vacant role at Ibrox after many successful years as an assistant at Real Madrid.

This could see the 35-year-old take over from interim boss Barry Ferguson, who departed Govan after the final game of the season against Hibernian.

It appears that a move for Ancelotti could be close in G51 after an image was shared that could be telling in the process of hiring the Italian.

Rangers closer to Ancelotti appointment as image emerges

There have been a number of options weighed up by the Gers hierarchy in recent weeks as the hunt for a manager continues to roll on.

This has seen Steven Gerrard emerge as the main competition for the job, as a return could be on the cards for the ex-Liverpool man.

With that being said, it appears that Ancelotti has taken a step closer to taking up the job in Govan after an image of his father was shared.

Brazilian outlet Diario do Centro do Mundo shared a picture (26 May) of his father, Carlo, boarding a plane to Rio de Janeiro after taking up the Brazil national team job.

The 65-year-old has reportedly been joined by his wife Mariann Barrena McClay, stepdaughter Chloe Victoria McClay and Brazilian businessman Diego Fernandes.

Coaches Paul Clement and Francesco Mauri are also said to have travelled alongside the Italian, while his Rangers-linked son has seemingly stayed away from the Selecao.

This could point to a step into first-team management being in the pipeline as a move to Ibrox continues to be on the table ahead of the summer.

Rangers can be confident of Ancelotti swoop

There is every reason now for the Light Blues to be confident of landing the Italian as they look to name a new head coach ready for the summer.

This could see Ancelotti become the man to guide the Gers forward under Paraag Marathe and the 49ers, as fans await a new era in G51.

It will certainly be interesting to see if a move to Brazil will be on the cards, but as it stands, his managerial career could be set to kick-start.
