Bajrami exit likely at Rangers as agent seeks Serie A or Bundesliga move

Rangers are poised for a key summer as the club aims to make up for lost time.

The Ibrox outfit are without a permanent manager as Barry Ferguson leaves his temporary post in Glasgow.

Given the takeover at Rangers, it is expected to be a busy summer on the player front too, with several players expected to leave.

One of those men is Nedim Bajrami, who is likely to depart for pastures new.

Bajrami expected to depart Ibrox this summer

Bajrami only arrived at Ibrox last summer after signing from Italian side Sassuolo for £3.4million.

Early in the season, it appeared that the Albanian was set to star, having been given a regular starting berth by Clement.

However, as the season progressed, Bajrami’s form faltered and he was afforded fewer opportunities.

As Clement was given the sack, the 26-year-old played even fewer minutes, and now there are question marks over his future.

A summer exit for Bajrami seems likely, and that could be accelerated if he is not fancied by Rangers’ impending manager.

It has been reported that the attacking-midfielder has two options for a summer move, according to Panorama Sport (22 May).

The Albanian outlet exclusively revealed that he has interest from Serie A and the Bundesliga if he were to leave.

With 40 appearances to his name this season, it seems that the Gers will have a hole to fill this summer.

Does Bajrami deserve another chance at Rangers?

Given that the Albanian has only been at Ibrox for almost a year, the Gers face a crucial decision.

Do they give Bajrami another shot or do they cash in?

For a player in the 26-year-old’s position, his three goal involvements in the Scottish Premiership are not enough.

In modern-day football, forward players are inevitably judged on statistics, and they could stand against the midfielder.

However, not every player hits the ground running in their first season, and by that logic, he could be afforded more time.

Much will depend on the appointment of Rangers’ next manager, with Steven Gerrard the leading candidate.

Will he put faith in a man who has underwhelmed, or will he give him one more chance?
