Rangers told to expect Cerny phone call after latest Ibrox exit news
Barry Ferguson’s time at Rangers may be over, but he will still be in contact over the next few weeks.
With Rangers‘ season now over, focus will have already turned to the summer transfer window and the decisions that will need to be made within it.
First and foremost, after Ferguson’s exit was announced, the Light Blues will need to get the managerial situation sorted, with several names linked with the job at Ibrox.
Once that is out of the way, the Gers will have a lot of work to do on the transfer front, though Ferguson may have a role to play in the recruitment elsewhere.

Sunderland urged to sign Rangers regular
Rangers already had a lot of work to do this summer, but with the likes of Leon Balogun leaving, the need for reinforcements is becoming more and more evident.
Another player whose time at Ibrox is up is Vaclav Cerny, who, as it stands, will be returning to Wolfsburg after his loan spell in Glasgow, and Derek Ferguson thinks he would be a shrewd addition to Premier League chasers Sunderland in the summer.

Speaking to Mackem News, he said: “You’d be daft not to look at him if you’re Sunderland. He’d add quality to many squads in the bottom half of the Premier League, top half of the Championship, so he’s definitely one who will be well sought-after by English clubs.
“I’d imagine the coaching staff at Rangers will be getting a few calls from people asking for more about him.”
Cerny’s reported £8million valuation has proved to be a block for Rangers in their attempts to sign him permanently, but they may still have a role to play in his next move.
Sunderland take on Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final on Saturday, with the predicted windfall sitting at £220million for the winners.

Rangers have a huge summer ahead
Ending a season without silverware is a failure for Rangers, and to avoid a repeat of that next campaign, they need to get every decision that they make this summer right.
Recruitment will be crucial at Ibrox, and to find a replacement for Cerny won’t be easy, though it is something they will need to do.
These next few months are going to be hectic for the Light Blues as they look to get back to being a side capable of competing with Celtic.
Could Cerny return to Glasgow? It’s looking increasingly difficult now.
