Ancelotti presents long-term Ibrox vision as Rangers talks advance

Davide Ancelotti has already shown Rangers what he’ll bring to Ibrox if appointed the next permanent manager.

The Gers have parted ways with Barry Ferguson after he took charge of his final game at Easter Road against Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on 17 May.

Ancelotti is one of the candidates at Ibrox, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be appointed by Kevin Thelwell and Gretar Steinsson, who are leading the search for a new head coach at the Light Blues.

The Italian coach may have already presented his case to the Glaswegian outfit, potentially revealing his long-term vision.

Rangers talks most advanced as Ancelotti outlines broad vision

Ancelotti has held the most advanced talks with the Light Blues as he looks to step into management, according to El Pais.

The news outlet reports (21 May) that the 35-year-old has held meetings with several European outfits and presented his project, which includes a long-term vision of first-team management and relationship with the youth academy, sporting director and other areas.

It’s been claimed that he’s already chosen his backroom staff, which will include Francesco Mauri, the Real Madrid set-piece coach, and has also discussed other members in his meetings.

The Gers will arguably be desperate to appoint a new manager soon, but they must also be diligent about choosing the right person.

Ibrox chiefs must decide on Ancelotti hire

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises’ potential takeover of the Light Blues has left fans in a state of limbo.

The Ibrox faithful have grown weary of the uncertainty at the Glaswegian outfit and want to see developments happen quicker.

Several names have also been linked with the hot seat at the Bears, and it’ll be interesting to see who ends up taking charge ahead of next season.

Ferguson seemingly wanted to stay at Rangers, but it looks like the hierarchy had other plans.

With the upcoming transfer window fast approaching, a new head coach will undoubtedly be pivotal in the Gers’ recruitment strategy.

If Ancelotti is the one the Light Blues want, they should quickly make his appointment official instead of holding out for someone else.

If the Italian coach is hired, the reaction from the Ibrox faithful will undoubtedly be mixed, considering his lack of experience as a first-team head coach.

More updates should be expected from the Glaswegian outfit in the coming days now that they’ve played their final fixture of the campaign.
