Rangers ready new manager announcement as Ancelotti offer update emerges
Rangers supporters are patiently waiting for some movement at Ibrox ahead of what should be a busy summer in Glasgow.
With the 49ers Enterprises yet to complete their takeover at Ibrox, there is likely to be limited action until that is finalised and announced.
However, the Gers do need to solve their issues in terms of the managerial vacancy, with Barry Ferguson leaving his position as interim boss already.
The 49ers already have people at Rangers, such as Gretar Steinsson, who can ensure that the foundations for their arrival are put in place, but decisions need to be made.

David Ancelotti update emerges at Rangers
Although Ferguson did a good job at Rangers with limited tools, any discussions of him becoming permanent boss faded away with the owners seeking more ambition.
One man who has been heavily linked with the vacancy, however, is Davide Ancelotti, who is leaving Real Madrid alongside his father this summer.
Seemingly, the 35-year-old feels this is the time to start his solo career and make a name for himself, with Ibrox possibly the place to do so.

2018-19 | Napoli |
2019-21 | Everton |
2021-25 | Real Madrid |
It seems as though Rangers supporters will be getting some answers soon, too, with movement at Ibrox starting to ramp up.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport has reported in its print edition (20 May, page 33) that Ancelotti has an offer from Rangers, and a new coach in Glasgow should be announced by the end of the week.
The report states that the Italian is one of two candidates left in the running for the job, with potential conditions to be smoothed out.
One of those conditions, set by Ancelotti himself, is that he wants to be able to follow his dad in the 2026 World Cup as Carlo makes the move to manage Brazil this summer.

Rangers have big decisions at Ibrox
Appointing Ancelotti could be a risky move for Rangers, with no clue of how he will fare when standing on his own two feet, but given the persistent interest, it is one the 49ers are clearly keen on.
If that is the case, then moves need to be made to secure a deal sooner, rather than later.
Ancelotti has laid out his conditions for taking the role, and it isn’t too big of an ask from the Gers, as long as they can ensure that their new boss would not be distracted from matters at Ibrox.
Without knowing who the other candidate is, it’s hard to make a judgment on which route the Light Blues should take.
However, having someone in place by the end of the week is surely going to be a massive boost for Rangers and allow planning for the summer to start.
