Rangers hit jackpot as player says farewell to current club ahead of Ibrox move

Rangers are looking ahead to a big summer at Ibrox on the back of a hugely disappointing 2024-25 campaign.

With the 49ers Enterprises looking to complete their takeover at Rangers, it will increase the level of investment in the squad.

There is plenty still to be pondered, though, with Barry Ferguson leaving his role as interim boss, but no one has yet to be appointed permanently.

With that in mind, all eyes are on Ibrox, waiting for the new developments to confirm what direction the club are going to move in.

Lyall Cameron ready for Rangers move

While there may be plenty of uncertainty at Ibrox, one move is set in stone, and that’s Lyall Cameron joining Rangers.

Cameron has been with Dundee, but has already agreed a deal to move to Glasgow when the transfer window opens.

The 22-year-old has been a regular in his side this term, contributing to efforts at the top end of the pitch and will be an exciting addition to the Rangers side.

While it’s not yet known who will be at the helm, there is plenty of change needed for the Gers to find more success next term, and whoever is incoming as boss will surely be looking forward to the prospect of working with Cameron.

Dundee secured their safety with a 2-0 win against St Johnstone on Sunday (18 May), with Cameron scoring both goals to leave his current side on a high.

However, the midfielder has admitted that he is ready for the next step now, relishing what’s to come.

Speaking to Sky Sports (18 May), Cameron said: “I can’t wait for what comes next if I’m being totally honest.

“I haven’t had much time to think about it because I’ve been so focused on doing the job here. But now that it’s done, it’s starting to sink in, so I’m looking forward to it, to be honest.”

Rangers have incoming star at Ibrox

Although there may be uncertainty at Ibrox over what’s to come next, there is plenty to be excited about for supporters too, with prospects looking much brighter in Glasgow.

The American investors are set to increase investment in the Rangers squad, allowing for the opportunity to push closer to Celtic next term.

However, with Cameron already agreed to come in and coming to what should be a happier set-up, the future looks bright.

With the emergence of Hamza Igamane at Ibrox this season, it shows that the opportunities are there and with the excitement in the youngster, he could well be the next Gers star.

Given these comments from Cameron, who is clearly a talent and buzzing to represent Rangers, the Gers have very much hit jackpot.
