Lawrence Shankland wants talks with Rangers hero amid new Ibrox speculation
Lawrence Shankland’s future could become clear in the next few weeks amid transfer links to Rangers.
Rangers’ 2-2 draw away to Hibernian marked the end of their 24/25 campaign, and it’s fair to say that the season will not be one remembered very fondly down the line.
The Light Blues failed to win any silverware at Ibrox, though their Europa League run did catch the eye of many.
With that said, if Rangers are to get back to competing at the top of Scottish football, recruitment is going to play a key role in the coming months, with linked striker Shankland revealing his future plans.

Rangers could make move to sign Shankland this summer
Shankland has been linked with a move to Rangers in the past, and his future ahead of the new campaign remains up in the air at Hearts.
With Derek McInnes set to take over after his tenure at Kilmarnock, Hearts will have a decision to make on the future of the Scotsman, and according to the print edition of the Sunday Mail (18 May, pg 59), Shankland wants to initiate talks with the new boss in regard to his future.
Hearts | Games | Goals | Assists |
Shankland | 31 | 8 | 8 |
McInnes, formerly of Rangers, will undoubtedly want to keep hold of Shankland, but with Hamza Igamane potentially on the move, the Gers may be able to entice him to make the move to Ibrox, with his contract running out.
Shankand has struggled to replicate his goal-scoring touch this season, but a move to Rangers could be what he needs to find it once again, with interest still present.
On his future, Shankland said: “The club have made it known that they would like to keep me on again and speak about a contract.”

Rangers need to recruit well this summer
A move for Shankland would be a risk this summer, especially when taking into account his form from the season, but it may be one worth taking.
Quality incomings are going to be essential for Rangers if they are to find a way to start competing with Celtic for domestic success.
Planning will undoubtedly already be underway at Ibrox, ahead of what promises to be a hectic summer period.
