Nicolas Raskin sends message after Rangers controversy in draw v Hibernian

Nicolas Raskin was involved in everything as Rangers drew 2-2 against Hibernian in a controversial final day of the Scottish Premiership season.

Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring early on Saturday, and Raskin had the ball in the net for a second time, only for play to continue and Hibs equalise through Kieran Bowie seconds later.

The Belgian was the best player on the pitch, scoring in the second half, and he has already shared his verdict on the hugely controversial ghost goal.

Raskin furious after goal not given in Rangers draw

Rangers fans were furious after Raskin’s goal was not given, with the Scottish FA’s reasoning that there was no clear angle of the ball crossing the line.

Raskin did then score in the second half, but Martin Boyle’s header made it 2-2 in a game which Rangers should have won had his earlier strike stood.

The midfielder has now given his verdict on the decision, and he was clearly unhappy with the verdict over what should have been a goal.

“Not a good image, no goal then, play on boys,” he sarcastically posted on X in response to a video seemingly showing the ball crossing the line.

Raskin was Rangers’ best player again

Raskin has been Rangers’ best player by some distance this season, and he showcased his quality again in the draw at Easter Road.

The 24-year-old created the opener as his pass was converted by Dessers in the opening minutes, and he was a creative spark in the middle of the park.

Raskin headed Rangers in front from a corner in the second half, but the fact that his side could not see out the win summed up their season, as they dropped even more points on the final day.

There was nothing to play for at Hibernian, but Rangers will still be furious at the decision over Raskin’s strike, and there is set to be more backlash over yet another poor refereeing decision against the Gers.

The Scottish FA will be braced for what’s to come, it’s not the first time.
