Vaclav Cerny drops huge exit hint in five-word Rangers message

Vaclav Cerny faces an uncertain future at Rangers as his loan deal from Wolfsburg nears its expiry.

The Czech international has been one of the shining lights for Rangers this season, having bagged 18 goals and nine assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

However, Cerny is due to return to Wolfsburg when his season-long loan deal at Ibrox runs out next month.

The Rangers have an option to make the move permanent for a cut-price fee of £5.5million, although it has to be triggered by the end of May.

With the Light Blues in the middle of a takeover by Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe, fans are still in the dark over Cerny’s transfer in the coming days.

Cerny may have confirmed Ibrox exit

The takeover could drag on until mid-June, while Rangers are also in the process of hiring a replacement for Barry Ferguson.

Therefore, it would not be a surprise if the Gers have to pass up on the option to retain Cerny’s services beyond this season.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old appears to have confirmed that he will not be at Ibrox next season, as he took to social media to send a message following the Glasgow giants’ 3-1 win against Dundee United on Wednesday (14 May) in their final home game of the season.

“Memories forever! Thank you, Ibrox”, Cerny wrote on Instagram (14 May) along with a blue heart emoji.

The message appears to be a clear indication that Wednesday’s game against Dundee United was the last time Cerny stepped foot on the Ibrox pitch as a Rangers player.

Rangers miss out on Cerny

Wolfsburg’s asking price for Cerny is tipped to increase bifold after May, with several clubs said to be interested in acquiring his services already.

Besiktas have been credited with an interest in signing the Czech and have already made an approach to lure him to Turkey.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are said to have made Cerny one of their top targets for the summer, meaning Rangers are looking certain to miss out on him.
