Rangers fans will shiver as Michael Beale lined up for surprise return to management
Rangers have a managerial decision to make of their own, though one set to be made elsewhere will send a scary reminder to those at Ibrox.
With very little, if anything other than pride, to play for this season, Rangers will have already turned plenty of their focus to the summer window, and the decisions that will be needed within it.
Recruitment at Ibrox is going to be crucial, but before any plans of that sort are made, the Light Blues need to appoint their next permanent manager.
Davide Ancelotti seems to be the favourite to take over in Glasgow as Rangers look to right their wrongs, but the latest news on Michael Beale will send a shiver down the spines of those at Ibrox.

League One club ready to offer Beale a return to management
Rangers have been poor this season, but those of a Light Blues’ persuasion will take pride from the fact Beale is no longer in charge at Ibrox.
Under his tenure, Rangers were an absolute mess, and it’s fair to say things haven’t gone to plan for Beale since either.
After leaving Rangers, Beale ventured to Sunderland, where he very nearly got the Black Cats relegated in the middle of two seasons in which they had been involved in the play-offs, and yet it looks as though he will still get another job.
Beale | PPG |
Sunderland | 1.17 |
Rangers | 2.26 |
QPR | 1.41 |
That is according to EFL Analysis, who claim that recently relegated Cardiff City have identified Beale as a “leading candidate” to take over following the sacking of Omer Riza.
After dropping down to League One, the Bluebirds will be desperate to bounce back to the Championship, though, under Beale, it seems unlikely.
Rangers supporters will shiver just at hearing his name, but will also be thankful that he is now nowhere near Ibrox. To put it straight, it would be a surprise to see another club take a chance on him.

Rangers have their own managerial situation to sort
If the Gers are to progress next season, it is imperative that they get this managerial uncertainty sorted as soon as possible, otherwise it will have some huge effects going forward.
Whoever comes in will need time to stamp their own authority at Ibrox and ensure that recruitment matches the needs to suit their style of play.
The next few weeks are going to be huge for the Light Blues, and they need to get every decision right.
