Rangers fans will be in hysterics at name mooted as Barry Ferguson replacement

Rangers will be looking to appoint their next permanent manager as quickly as possible this summer.

With nothing left to play for, much of Rangers’ attention will have already been diverted towards the summer transfer window and the decisions that will need to be made within it.

Recruitment at Ibrox is going to be crucial for any hopes of progressing, but the managerial situation is one that will need to be addressed before any other plans are put into place.

Several names have been linked with the Rangers job, and the latest one will see a large number of the Light Blue faithful burst into laughter, especially after what happened last night.

Ally McCoist name-drops ex-England star for Rangers job

Rumours over Davide Ancelotti have been ongoing for several days now, but with nothing set in stone, the likelihood is that the Light Blues will still have other targets in mind.

However, one thing that is abundantly clear is that the next appointment has to be the right one, especially after recent failures under Philippe Clement and Michael Beale.

With that said, Ally McCoist’s suggestion is laughable to say the least. The pundit mooted Frank Lampard for the job at Ibrox, and the suggestion is laughable.

Lampard’s managerial record.

Not only has Lampard failed in every job he has been in, but last night he witnessed his Coventry City side exit the Championship play-offs, with Sunderland progressing to the final.

To put it clearly, the appointment of Lampard at Rangers would be a disaster waiting to happen, and they must steer clear.

Rangers must get next appointment spot on

Ending the season without silverware is a disaster for Rangers, and until they put an end to the rot at Ibrox, that failure will go on for seasons to come.

Big changes need to be made in the summer at Ibrox, and it is imperative that any decisions made are made in the best interest of the club.
