Ferguson axes Igamane in two changes – Rangers predicted XI v Hibernian
Barry Ferguson could make two changes for Rangers’ final match of the season against Hibernian.
Ferguson is looking to end his interim reign on a high after two wins from the Gers’ last two matches at Ibrox.
A Cyriel Dessers brace and a Nico Raskin strike were enough to see off Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox on Wednesday (14 May), and Ferguson may stick with the majority of that team.
However, Hamza Igamane struggled to influence the game and could be dropped for the Scottish Premiership clash with Hibs at Easter Road on Saturday (17 May).

Ferguson will aim to end the season on a high at Rangers
There is a lot of excitement surrounding the summer at Rangers.
The 49ers Enterprises are expected to complete a takeover at Ibrox, which should lead to significant investment in transfers. However, right now, the focus remains on the pitch, where results have not been good enough.
Jack Butland has had an inconsistent campaign, but he was solid against the Tangerines when he returned to the starting line-up after being displaced by Liam Kelly.
James Tavernier faces an uncertain future but is expected to continue at right-back with Jefte on the opposing flank.
In the heart of defence, John Souttar and Leon Balogun are predicted to retain their places, with Neraysho Kasanwirjo only just returning to fitness.
The standout player for the Light Blues this season has been Nicolas Raskin in the engine room, and he is predicted to keep his starting berth with Bailey Rice coming in to partner him.
Mohamed Diomande could keep his place after his performance against Hibernian last time out.

Igamane axed as Oscar Cortes gets chance at Rangers
Igamane has been in and out of the side under Ferguson, and he struggled to make an impact against Jim Goodwin’s team as he was handed a start.
The Moroccan forward completed just 71 per cent of his passes and failed to provide an accurate cross into the box, while both of his dribble attempts were unsuccessful [Sofascore].
In addition, both of the forward’s shots were off target, and he also gave possession away 12 times.
Rangers 2024/25 | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Hamza Igamane | 46 | 16 | 3 |
As a result, Ferguson might choose to give Cortes a final chance to impress him before his interim role is done.
With the Gers having a £3.5million obligation to purchase the Colombian winger at the end of the season, it makes sense to see what he can offer after an injury-ravaged campaign.
Dessers is expected to lead the line after his two goals against United. The Nigeria international’s campaign has gone under the radar as he has scored 17 goals in 34 matches in the Scottish Premiership.
Vaclav Cerny is predicted to complete the starting line-up. However, it may be the Czech international’s last match for Rangers unless the Gers can complete a deal to sign him permanently.
Supporters will miss the 27-year-old as he has been a real burst of quality in a dreadful team, and the 49ers could make a huge splash with his signing.
